How often is that question asked? There are so many choices it is hard to decide what is BEST for you.

If part time keep your search focused on Job Type franchise
You will need to focus your search for companies that have available territories within that specific geographic area. Many major Franchisers have sold out of territories and you would then need to look at potential Sub-Franchises. Those held by a Master Franchisee within that area.
That is where a complete business plan come into play. You must first know how much you can afford to spend on a new business before you begin your search. Your financial ability will determine what type and what Franchise you can apply for. Every Franchiser has a set “Net Worth” and “Cash Available” requirement for a new franchise. As you research be sure to check out the requirement of that specific franchiser before you apply.
Most Franchisers will require you to be active in the management of the business. Many will allow you to hire a qualified manager, but they will want that manager to complete their training program as well.
Most Franchise agreement allow for transfer to a family member with the requirement that that family member attend a training course. There may be fees involved and each Franchiser has their own requirements for such a transfer.
: There are requirements by some Franchisers that they have the right of first refusal to purchase the business if you decide to sell it, others require the buyer to apply as if they were a new franchisee. Almost al will allow a sale and will require a separate fee to facilitate the transfer.
That depends on the Franchiser. Generally, they can run from 10 years to 25 years before they are required to be renewed. Most Franchisers offer renewable options for various periods of time.
